Here are the lyrics to both sides of the infamous single...
Traffic Lights
Traffic lights mess me about
Traffic lights mess me about
Traffic lights mess me about
Traffic lights mess me about
Red means GO! Put my foot on the gas
Orange means Don't Know, just let me pass
Green means, Think about it, what you gonna do?'
Don't you know these traffic lights are messing me about
Don't you know these traffic lights are messing me about?
The song has two possible meanings. |
1) I was driving home from a gig and had post gig heebie-jeebies. The lights at Selly Oak changed suddenly and it was raining heavily and for a split second I forgot what the colours meant. Should I slam on the breaks, or speed up and take a chance. I took a chance. Possible meaning 2) The colours of the lights symbolise red tape and bureaucracy that dictates our lives causing indecision and confusion. If you don't know when to stop or go your life can succeed or fail. Things haven't changed especially for school leavers who must decide on things that will affect their lives. |
Teacher, Teacher
Teacher teacher tell me you care
I'm growing up stupid and nobody cares
I'm slightly schizophrenic on the point of despair
I wanna wear a ladies dress and fiddle with your hair
The school system doesn't cater for emotional needs
Some teachers are still pervies ( I know first hand)
This song is a cry for help
My days at Holte Grammar in Aston were full of let down and disappointment
Help me teacher, before I turn out Bad!
