FLAT 19

London

Steve Bartlett Gordon Watson
Barry Frost - Bass Andy Hunter - Drums

 A very brief history...

We formed in summer '80, 17/18 year olds.

Played lots of gigs around South London, a few in East London.

Recorded a demo that consisted of Perfect Girl, Silently Crazy and Flat 19.

Our biggest gig at that time was supporting The Purple Hearts at Chadwell Heath Electric Stadium in the summer '81.

People still remember the strobe light we had which we used to use in our version of the Who's Run Run Run at the end of our shows, haha!

We split sometime in '82 when Andy and I went off to do other stuff.

Steve and Gordon found new Bass and Drums, turns out the drummer was Steve White.

They got a gig supporting The Truth at the Marquee in '82/83, not sure. I was on my way to see it with a mate on my scooter when we got pulled by the police and kept for so long we missed the gig.

As far as i know this was the only gig this line up ever did. I heard they got offered a European tour supporting The Truth but sadly split instead.

I did hear from Steve and Gordon around '84, they wanted to get the band back together (man). I said no as I was the bass player in The Cannibals, 60's garage punkers, by then. You may have heard of 'em, Mike Spenser's legendary band.
Never heard any more.

I do have photos but they are not scanned into computer, they are still in their albums. I have live cassettes from The Castle Tooting, and Kings Head Fulham. Local mods seem to remember these gigs with great affection which is really nice.
