Hi just been reading the stuff about the Kickstarts in Doncaster written by Glyn I was the original roadie and sound guy and joined with Dave Woodrow the drummer. I worked with the band almost up to the end and have to say i had the time of my life. After the band split up I went on to play guitar with Steve Riches who was lead Guitarist with the Kickstarts in a post punk band (don't even think we had a name) and then into all sorts of Mod stuff bands. I kept in touch with Dave (the drummer) up till about 8 or so years ago but have moved away from Doncaster now and so lost touch. Went to see Glyn a few times after he joined the Angelic Upstarts and still have some photos of him at an open air gig at Kirk Sandall. As for Nick never saw him again after the band split. His girlfriend Sue was a big friend of Barbara’s (Steve's wife at the time) but that came to an end after Steve and Barbara divorced. Kept in touch with Barbara for many years after but again moving away lost touch.
The good old days as they say or is it just selective memory guess i will never no but i do remember loving the band.

 Hello,

Just some info re. Kickstarts.

Saw them at Romeo & Juliets in Doncaster late 70's and then found myself living next door to Singer Dave Wray early 80's. He helped me learn to play guitar. He was gigging in a duo called Time After Time with his wife Trish up until retiring in the late 90's.

Cheers,

Ian Betts
