THE RAGE

TULSE HILL, LONDON

Chris Gent - Vocals Eddie Cox (aka Riff) - Guitar
Martin Glover - Bass John Towe - Drums

Formed in August, 1977 by original Generation X drummer John Towe, auditions pulled in 17 year old bassist Martin Glover, who along with ex-Chelsea guitarist Eddie Cox (aka; Riff) and original American singer, Skip Zero set about rehearsing at their base in Tulse Hill, South London.

After an initial batch of live dates Skip Zero jumped ship and headed back to the States. He was replaced by Chris Gent, (ex-Pressure/The Mad Hatters/Houdini) as a major UK tour supporting The Adverts was about to start.

A single was due out on Edgar Records in December 1977, but so far no copies have surfaced.

The Rage had a brief six months on the punk circuit before splitting up in February, 1978 and exploding off into a variety of other bands.

John Towe joined The Adverts after original drummer Laurie Driver quit the band.

Eddie Cox joined Rat Scabies new group, the White Cats.

Martin Glover joined The Stilletos, before changing his name to Youth and hitching up with the 4B2's and then joining Killing Joke.

Chris Gent joined The Stukas, then fronted The Autographs who released the classic powerpop single "While I'm Still Young" (check out the Youtube footage of them playing it live on the "Revolver" TV show), after which he played with the Radio Stars, The Speedometers, The Records and Secret Affair.
