I went to Northampton art college in Sept 1976 were I met Mush. Daniel Ash was a year above us, Kevin Haskins a year below. Kevin asked us to audition (sing) for their new band Submerged Tenth (not Teeth as in Wikipedia!). We did and they asked me but I thought they wanted fame too much and I wanted be a drummer and then my bro formed The Shoplifters. Our first gig at The Black Lion in N'pton was well supported even though at that time bikers loved finding punks to beat them up. Apart from Peter Murphy, all of Bauhuas 1919 was there. they had much better gear than we did so we thought they were real punks, they thought we were were cause we dressed so plain.
