Hi David
Thanks for your reply. I've
attached a promo photo which Peter has supplied. Because the
album was effectively devised by Peter and Roger Bechirian
with a group of session musician friends of Peter and Roger,
two of the guys appearing in this photo didn't play on the
album. The one on the far left is a sound engineer called
Neil King, who currently works closely with Sting. The one
on the second right is an artist friend of Pete's called Ron
Chadwick.
I've also attached a copy of
an advert for the This is Your Life single which appeared in
Record Week at the time.
Peter tells me that the Twist
album was recorded at the Amp Pro studio in Shepherds Bush.
The studio was in a large house owned by Nick Lowe - the
front two rooms were converted into a studio by Tony
Visconti, who did a lot of work there with T Rex. It was
mixed at Eden Studios in Chiswick.
This was Peter's first 'solo'
project with Roger Bechirian - before they worked together
on the Blanket of Secrecy project. The involvement of Steve
Naive and Elvis Costello was thanks to Roger.
You are correct that Jimmy Edwards was involved - Peter knew him because he was a friend of Jimmy Pursey (Sham 69) - Peter was managed at the time by Tony Gordon who also managed Sham 69.
Hope this is of interest.
I'll have a further chat with both Peter and Roger and will
get back to you with any further details they may come up
with.
Coincidently Peter is about to launch a new album with Roger Bechirian - a somewhat different genre however! Kind Regards,
Anne
