Formed in the Kent area in early 1977, they were originally called The Abortions but didn't include the violinist in this early incarnation. Then switching to The Void, this ragbag teen outfit slogged the punk circuit for two solid years. Mainly playing support slots in and around the local area. they also ventured into the big smoke.
Passing their Roxy Club audition on the Tuesday 18th October 1977 and they were soon back there supporting 'The Maniacs' on Friday 4th November 1977 and then Menace on Saturday 10th December 1977.
Not only that but another feather in the cap was a prime gig at the Vortex on Monday 31st October 1977 supporting both 'Siouxsie & the Banshees' and 'Adam & the Ants'.
Early songs included "Raw Material" & "Post Atomic".
1978 They rounded the year off with the 'UK Subs' at that last bastion of Punk, The Sunshine Rooms in Margate on Saturday 9th December 1978.
The following week, on Saturday 16th December 1978 they played the "Kidnapped Arab Club" in Battersea, London with 'European Cowards'.
The tasty support slots continued into the following year, most notably with 'The Damned' at the 'Retford Porterhouse' on Friday 6th April 1979.
