A very early Mod band to form outta Southend along with 'Speedball'. Like 'Speedball', they were there right at the start of the Mod Revival. Sadly, they never released any records BUT did go into the studio to record several tracks.

They were:

Could It Be

Going Through The Motions

On My Own

Paint A Day

Ronnie's House

All five tracks are great Mod anthems and anyone of them could of been a single. I don't know where they were recorded but we have copies given to us from 'Dennis Munday' who was the A&R guy for 'The Jam'. So perhaps they demoed them for 'Polydor'?

After a year or so, the band split and out of the ashes they formed a new band called 'Le Mat' but taking a more neo Psychedelic path this time as this had taken over from the '79 Mod scene. With bands like 'Mood Six', 'The Onlookers', 'Scarlet Party' & 'The Marble Staircase' they soon found a whole new audience.

Ed Ball & Dan Treacy previously of the 'Television Personalities' picked up on this new and exciting scene and launched 'Whaam' Records. They quickly became the label to sign to and notched up thirteen great Psychedelic / Mod 45's. All of this releases have now become very rare and prized items.

'Le Mat' went onto release one 7" & one album for the label. The single was entitled 'Waltz of a fool' backed with 'Ev'ry dream' with a catalogue number of 'Whaam! 08. This single was released in October 1982. The album was called the same as the single 'Waltz of a fool' and had a catalogue number of 'BIG 06' and was released on April 1983.
