The above photo was taken by 'Terry Rawlings' at one of the 'Riki-Tik' nights in Slough in 1981.

'Dean Bruce' of 'The Onlookers' sitting on his scooter in March 1980. As you can see, it is in fact 'Jimmy's scooter from the film 'Quadrophenia'. Dean goes onto explain.... The scooter was actually an SX150 (as you probably know, these have rounder main headlamps and a nicer horn grill  – this should be evident from closely examining the film footage of the “you killed my scooter scene”). It didn’t have a 6V battery tray but it was not an Indian Servita. It was definitely an Innocenti Italian model. Clearly it had been fitted at some point with the LI side panels.

It was found under a tarpaulin with a guy called 'Alf Tyndle' who lived in Stoke Poges (which is North of Slough) he used to MOT motor cycles & scooters. When we uncovered it, the engine started on about the third kick and he gave me an MOT for it! (Around March 1980 I think). The Faring that you can’t see in the picture was crushed right in so we had to bang it about to be able to ride it home. It is interesting that no-one seems to ask the question “what happened to the killed scooter from the film!”. The overall finish was a bit slap dash hence I had it resprayed properly – white and metallic blue. I don’t know who originally did it up – but it was not Ron from sterling scooters. On the other side it had a massive fake exhaust pipe. Also notice the shower hose around the front brake pipe !

The same scooter after a quick respray.

Thanks tom Dean Bruce for the above photos
