JAKE HIGGS REMEMBERS.....

Hi

I can't quite remember the pressing quantity of the 'Teenage Crush single, most probably 2000 first press and mostly sold through local shops or at gigs. Best gig probably I don't really know it was great just being part of the band as you probably know we supported 'Wishbone Ash' on their national tour, although not quite who we would of liked to of supported it was a great experience. Worst gig walking out in Sunderland to a sea of long hair and denim and we played our bollocks off but to no avail! They just wanted 'Blowin' Free'/ 'Jailbait'... a fuckin' nightmare but you play through it and carry on to the next gig.

Sheffield was a major achievement for us as we got an encore from a Heavy Metal audience. A great gig, as the Trend, we had never been able to get into Yorkshire properly. We had done numerous  radio shows, TV and al the rest of the hype but could not get into the pub / small gig scene which was our forte, the Trend live was our sell.

There was so many good gigs, we played great places 'Dingwalls', 'The Rock Garden', 'Erics', 'The Venue' and every Poly from Reading to Glasgow. Just a great time to be about 'The Cheaters', 'Any Trouble', 'The Flys', 'The Out' & 'George Borovski' (The nicest man in the world and a great guitar /song writer) loads of great bands playing great music.

One regret, having played lots of Apollo's a round the country we never played the Manchester Apollo.

When people asked me now do I miss playing in the 'Trend',  I've got one reply, Fuckin' right I do!

To the guys I played and lived with for that period 'Charlie Vincent', 'Rev Revell', 'Nicky Knott', 'Steve Scott' & 'Richard Vincent' (personnel manager and all round good egg!) Thanks for a fuckin' great time!

Recited at Sunday morning at 4.30am  after one to many the night before.....

Cheers Jake.
