Hi,

My name is Pete Heyward and I was the Guitar player in the band Unorfadox. Gerry was our manager. He worked with me in the Co op store in Bromley selling furniture and electrics. We were a Bromley based punk outfit playing gob drenched gigs all over London including the Vortex and the Roxy unfortunately we split just as we were starting to get noticed. The other Members were front man and vocals Brian Jardine, Ray Amos on Bass and Andy Elphick on Drums. I would love to hear a copy of the cassette that you have. I think I have the original reel to reel tape with the whole set on it somewhere although I couldn't put my finger on it right now. The songs were called Disappear, At the Roxy, Hard on my Heals and I'm a Loner. I have a promo photo of us on my wall and have kept in touch with Brian and Andy to this day.

Look forward to hearing from you

Hi there,

Just thought I would drop you a line re the band UNORFADOX !

Formed in LEWISHAM/NEW CROSS in a pub called the Talbot, where guitarist Peter Heyward  lived with his mum and dad who ran the pub and his younger brother Nick who later went on to form Haircut 100.The rehearsals started for UNORFADOX in the Talbot but then when the Heywards moved to a new pub the GOATS HOUSE in Penge just opposite and up the road from the Freemasons Tavern.

The line up of the band was Peter Heyward guitar, Brian Jardine Vocals (Brother of Mark Wynter, pop singer in the early 1960s best known for Venus in Blue Jeans), Ray Amos Bass and Andy Elphic Drums.

The tape you have I think was sent in by Gerry Parfitt who was trying to manage us at the time. Actually neither myself or Peter have a copy of this tape and don't know anyone else who has .

The tracks are titled as you say except HOT ON MY HEELS is Hard on My Heels and DON'T BELONG is I'm a Loner.

Great times we had indeed !

Peter Heyward has been in numerous bands as well as a successful Pink Floyd Tribute Band PINK FRAUD, who have for now called it a day after more than ten years.

I went on to form another new wave band band called the Telegents and released a single called Get Out b/w Telephone Romance and a couple of tracks on a Bromley compilation Album called From Bromley With Love .

Hope this is of some help to you

All the best

Brian Jardine
