Hi Dizzy Just found the below mentioned in an old Music paper.. The Infested... "Cecil And The Tea Cakes" EP 7" (their debut single) (Disaster Records; Ben Challis..15,A,Temple Road, Canterbury, Kent...ph Canterbury 60691) This was supposed to have been pressed up by Ellie Jay (Productions) Ltd in May,78, the deposit was paid upfront, however as Ellie Jay didn't press records the master discs were passed on to Canon Records, ran by Peter Self, in Canterbury....by the end of September 1978 the discs had still failed to arrive. stay tuned..... Hi Dizzy
That
came from a "Sounds" problem page from 23rd Sept 78, they had
obviously spoken to Ben, the piece was about people complaining
that they had ordered records that had not arrived including The
Infested 7" (+ Proles/Disco Zombies)...if it was not a scam, why
would it say in print that Ellie Jay Ltd/Canon Records had the
materials ready to go to press the record? they would get legal
crap if this was all untrue surely?
Certainly looks like this Infested 7" was mastered, but not
pressed......so where are the tapes / master plates, etc? Very
strange......

Hey Dizzy
I am afraid I am distracted by Glastonbury but unless I am
very much mistaken the Infested never released anything in the
end
I DO remember the whole Ellie Jay thing - I even went to
London to meet the guy who ran it - nice fella - but basically
they seemed to have a lot of problems getting the product doe.
Now I am thinking - did this become the 'Wasteland' EP -
possibly yes ...... I will think some more but I have no-one to
ask!
best wishes
Ben Challis
