The Sick Things were Steve Morrison (also known as Iggy Morrison) on vocals (he did sounds like a girl though), Richard on drums (can remember his 2nd name) and myself on guitar.  The bass player was not a band member just a mate who helped out: his name was Chris Rhun.  We did a cassette in the flat we used to share with Adam Ant (on Redcliffe Gardens in Chelsea: Julian Temple also lived there and Amanda Donohoe was Adam’s girlfriend at the time).  I can’t remember any of the titles though but I will have a look for it.  Steve left to go and live with his girlfriend in Oxford, and I also left.  The band carried on with new members but I didn’t know any of the new ones.

Different band or same band?

Hi there

I read your Sick Things info and wanted to give you some real facts ☺

The email update you got on this article from Frenchy at Flicknife records was totally bogus!!

The Sick Things were formed by Charlie Green on vocals, myself (Richard Durrant) on guitar and backing vocals and Malcolm Hart on bass.

The drummer was some guy from Weybridge, can't remember his name, but he was shit anyway!  Charlie wrote the lyrics, I did the music.

We only ever did the Raw Deal session and then one gig at the Vortex shortly after.

The Vortex gig, we were third on the bill after Sham 69 and Gen X

The drummer didn't turn up for the gig and Jimmy Pursey played drums at our soundcheck and Sham's drummer did the gig.

We did go back to re-record a few of those tracks with a better drummer a couple of months later and they sounded awesome!! Charlie actually didn't turn up for the session so I did the lead vocals.

Thanks and regards

Richard Durrant
