Hi There,
Lee Bates here from `Strange Fashion`
On Saturday one of our regular `fans` brought a copy of
your page concerning our 1980 Demo...
So here goes
I did the vocals and lyrics for both tracks (Lee Bates)
The Keyboards were played by Mike Gill
The Guitar was played by Andy Edmondson
Drums and percussion by Tony Parrish
It was recorded at Gateway studio close to Clapham Common
in early 1980
I still sing with strange fashion after all these years !
Mike worked for Stock Aitkin and waterman, in latter
years,
The last i heard from Mike he was
designing computer software in Scotland.
Tony made drums for Eddie Ryan in Covent Garden,
consequentially he had one of
the biggest drum-kits I've ever seen. Tony moved down
near camber sands, we lost touch
maybe twenty years ago
Andy now lives in Spain.
The kit used (from memory )
Mike Gill Keyboards, ARP ODYESSEY and GODWIN double
manual Organ with Bass Pedals
Andy Played his homemade electric guitar through 2
Marshall 50 watt master volume amplifiers
with 2 X 2 by 12 sloping front Marshall cabs
Andy also played Bass pedals....
Andy`s bass pedal unit was self designed and built...it
triggered an ARP AXXE synthesizer and housed
all his guitar effects
Tony used his `Parrish/Ryan battleship drum kit, various
cymbals and stands
I still have most of our recordings from about 1979 until
the present day, all of which remain unreleased
except for a few airings on various radio shows...
I enclose two further clips, one 6 minute epic from `back
in the day`
and a venomous little tune which has aged quite well,
both feature Mike and Andy...
You`ll need a bit of patience for the epic, so make
yourself a tea....lol
The line-up is very different today, but playing
regularly mainly in South East London...
for more info drop me an email...
Cheers
Lee Bates
