For Fact Freaks:

The album cover of Phonogram’s 1977 “New Wave” LP ( featuring The Damned, Dead Boys, Richard hell, etc) was a photo of Derek Gibbs spitting beer, with John Johnson the bass player lurking in the background wearing a swimming cap.

Above is the rare original promo poster to the "New Wave" compilation album featuring "Derek Gibbs" spitting beer.

In 1978 the band met Rat Scabies when supporting his band the White Cats. He subsequently became their producer on the first two 7”s, as well as sometimes drumming for them.

Singer Derek Gibbs wrote punk fanzine Sound of the Westway.

The band were featured in Punk Lives magazine.

Drummer Danny Heatley has played with numerous bands since The Satellites (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Heatley_(musician)).

Drummer Jim Kane joined the band after leaving Fresh Records’ outfit, The Dark.
