Hi
I was the bass player in
Solid Waste as featured in your website. In answer to your
question which was the original line-up, we had a series of
drummers including Pete Lake who later tried to manage us.
The original core of the
band was myself, Billy Bibbet, on bass, Lee on vocals and P.
Niss on guitar. These of course were noms de plume as it were.
My real name is Tim Green and my stage name was taken from a
character in Ken Kesey's 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'. As
for the others I feel it is up to them to reveal their true
identities should they wish to do so. Suffice it to say that
Peter Niss's name was indeed Ken which accounts for some of the
confusion. I left the band towards the end of 1978 at which
point it transmogrified into Street Bizarre. An album was
recorded but never released. I have completely lost touch with
the rest of the band although I think Lee still lives in
Chelmsford. There is in existence an interview we did with the
NME although I do not have a scanner so I cannot send you a
copy. It came out in late summer 1978.
I hope this is of some
interest.
