Looked at a couple of bands on your website. When I first
knew Gary (Olsen) Grant, him & Sue Barnes were an item. When
we were French Lesson, Muvver's Pride was born. Originally
they were meant to be our support band, but because they
were girls, they started getting billing over us. I didn't
mind, nor did the others, but Gary was very upset about it
& given he was my friend first & foremost, I sided with him
when he wanted to pull out of a Spanish tour in which
Muvver's Pride were to get top billing. I was close with
Nina, the MP's drummer, & used to let her play my kit. It
was at that time Gary started taking acting lessons, whilst
still in the band. I took ill with colitis & retired, so
Gary put all his energies into acting, but we remained firm
friends until his passing aged 42, so he did a bit better
than the expected 26.
