The above gig advert for 'Gloria Mundi', 'The Rage', 'The Jerks' & 'Martin & The Brownshirts' for the 'Vortex'', London from Monday 2nd January 1978 appeared in the 'NME' on 24th December 1977.

I do remember a story with these guys.... we used to visit a pub in Chester named the 'Golden Eagle, it was closer to Christmas 1977 and there was a bunch of punks hanging out at this joint. We had just received Bombsite issue #3 back from the printer, and we were selling [or giving] the fanzine out that night. Norman and the gang were in there. We used to like these guys, and they bought a bunch of fanzines from us, like a pile, more than most would. I think it was Norman who turned to us and said "hey we need to look after you, you're the press" we all laughed. But, the comment stuck with me as I was thinking, that I don't feel like "the press" as we all just wanted to do something to energize the new music. Since there had been so much distorted media coverage. People all around me, just 1 or 2 degrees outside our circle, could not quite grasp the reality of what was really going on.
