Ah yes, The Obtainers.....

Two 13 year olds indeed...

But much loved  by us all at the time

They did an aborted "tour" of peoples front rooms in Crawley to promote the single...

Hung around in the local record emporium a lot causing much trouble

and then, like all Crawley things just "kind of vanished.."

I`m sure I  bumped into them at a Cult Heroes gig some months later

And the single with Mag/Spies???

I was falling asleep one day in the fore mentioned record store when Robert offered me 25 copies for sale...

I dunno how many i actually took but my copy is still safe and sound...

Other releases were planned but fell at the first post

(ok, didn't get past the drunken-table-in-The-Rocket-talking stage..)

 Sigh, happy daze...

They were indeed Robin Goodey and Paul Wilson.  They were two years ahead of me (and Robin's brother Peter, who was my best friend) at Hazelwick School in Crawley, so that would make them around 11 or 12 at the time, rather than 13 when they did Pussy Wussy. And they were actually from Crawley, not Horley - they both lived in Three Bridges - Paul lived in North Road and Robin lived in Brookside.

Peter and I were always hanging out together and I lived around the corner so knew Robin and Paul quite well too. I also went to school with Paul's sister, Sarah. I remember that at the time where was quite the buzz about how they knew The Cure, who were starting to get recognised. I also remember Robin's drum kit. His dad (Reg) was always pretty grumpy about the noise!

Anyway, there's some legendary pop trivia. Hope you find it interesting :)
